Frankfort, KY – The leadership at Northside Christian Church is preparing for a patriotic, July 4th service. One of the elders, Rick Henry, explained, “On the heels of our successful Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and Father’s Day services, we plan for the climax of our church’s year. Our service will be filled with classic patriotic songs, flags, the Pledge of Allegiance, and special music, including Lee Greenwood’s ‘I’m Proud to Be an American.’”
Preaching minister, Dan Evans, recently tried to incorporate the Christian Year into church services, focusing on days like Pentecost and Epiphany, but the proposal was rejected by the elders. “The elders told me the Christian Year was formed due to influences from pagan, ungodly culture, and it lacked biblical support and precedent,” explained Dan.
Rick indicated that after July 4th preparations they will begin planning the Halloween festival followed by the church Thanksgiving meal.
